Throughout the year, a group of students, called the ‘Champions of Change’, has been driving this campaign to stop violence against women.
“In our local area, in the beautiful Hornsby Ku-ring-gai local area, almost 100 women each month flee their homes because of violence,” the Headmaster John Weeks told more than 1,800 boys at a special White Ribbon Assembly on Thursday.
“In Australia, on average, each week one women will die because of domestic violence. Those women die because of men. This is a reality and this needs to stop. If we are going to change it, it starts with you and it starts with me changing,” said Mr Weeks.
