We are delighted to announce that Knox students Ryan (Year 10), Harry (Year 11), and Summer (Year 11) have represented New South Wales with distinction at the 2025 National Schools Debating Championships (NSDC), held 11–18 May.
Knox Grammar School
All three students were selected for the NSW State Debating Team, the highest number from any school this year. Harry and Summer were selected as speaking members of the team, and Ryan was selected as a reserve – a remarkable achievement for a Year 10 student.
The NSW team performed strongly throughout the tournament and won the Grand Final against Queensland in a 5-2 split decision, becoming National Champions. Harry was one of the speakers in the final. Following the competition, he was selected for the Australian Debating squad, which includes the top nine student debaters nationally.
Later this year, five students will be chosen from this group to represent Australia at the World Schools Debating Championships. Harry’s selection for the national squad is a significant achievement and places him in contention to become the first Knox student in over a decade to join the Australian National Team.
We congratulate Ryan, Harry, and Summer on these outstanding accomplishments.
