Established by our Middle Academy, Knox’s Global Challenge program gives students the opportunity to address a major world issue.

During Global Challenge week, students use agile methodologies to work on their specific global issue of choice. Their goals for each day of this week are as follows:
The Global Challenge program provides a learning experience that will develop key skill sets through problem-solving, entrepreneurial spirit, collaboration, communication and developing adaptability. By prioritising student voice and autonomy, students will not only learn more about their passions and strengths but will develop a love of learning due to the relevance and real-world application the Global Challenge will provide.
Aligned with the Knox Graduate Profile, the Global Challenge will enable students to develop an Enterprising Mindset as they embark on the week of problem solving, through the lens of project-based design thinking. Our students are equipping themselves with the relevant skills necessary for the future, and also gaining a greater understanding of themselves, their strengths, passions, and stronger confidence and self-determined learning skills to take on the Stage 6 challenges and academic rigour.
To deepen their understanding of these global challenges, during Term 3 students heard from industry professionals about the challenges facing certain sectors. Each student goes through the process of discovery and then chooses an industry and domain that is of most interest to them. Once done, they will be coached and mentored to find a problem they would like to understand more about, and aim to solve, during the Global Challenge week.
We look forward to this Friday, when students will be communicating their big ideas!
