Experiencing live NBA games, a visit to the University of Oregon and games against local teams were among the highlights of the Knox USA Basketball Tour.

It was fantastic group of boys who were able to spend two weeks together experiencing life and basketball in America," said Director of Basketball Ellie Manou.

Twenty-six boys from Years 9 to 12 visited cities on the west coast of the USA, including Portland, Eugene, Los Angeles and San Francisco, in December.

"To begin with Oregon University was amazing, just seeing the scale of their basketball and football program was astonishing and a real eye opener," said Year 10 student Henri Day. "It is something I could definitely see myself trying to achieve in the future."
"With our games I loved all the all the pre-game hype, getting our names introduced to the crowd, the playing of the national anthems, it was a surreal experience," said Henri.

"The boys were able to play some tough basketball against quality teams," said Ellie. "This was great opportunity to expose them to a different style of basketball which will help them in the tail end of the CAS season."

"Off the court the team bonding and the camaraderie was great," said Henri. "When you get to know team mates away from the basketball, it really helps on the court with team chemistry."
