Congratulations to our Knox Robotics teams on their performances at the VEX Robotics Sydney Region competition.

Our Years 7 and 8 team won both the Robotics Skill Champion and Design Award, and came second in their division. This team also qualified for the National Finals of VEX Robotics 2022 to be held at Sydney Olympic Park in December.
Our Years 9 and 10 team also made it to the semi-finals and only lost to the grand final team. While not progressing in the competition, they will be supporting our younger students in their preparation for the nationals.
The Sydney Region Competition was also the first for our Prep VEX Robotics teams where they battled 70 other teams from across Sydney. Each team competed in five ‘alliance matches’ working collaboratively with other teams to achieve the highest cumulative score. Based on the average of their scores in the first part of the day we are incredibly proud to say that all the Prep teams advanced to the Regional Final which was hotly contested and came down to the final match to decide the overall winner.
As a result, the Prep boys are now ranked 6th in Australia in the Elementary category according to the VEX World Skills Standing and two teams have qualified for the National Finals to be held in December at Sydney Olympic Park.
One of our teams also took out the tournament Amaze Award which is presented to a team that has built an amazing, high-scoring robot that clearly demonstrates overall quality.
We are proud of all these students and everything they have achieved in this season of VEX Robotics.
