With the development of new technologies and the emergence of the freelance ‘Gig’ economy, the world will experience more change in the next decade than in the last century, restructuring the Australian and global workforce.
Preparing our students to succeed in an era of global uncertainty requires development of intellect, learning practical capabilities and mastery of the global competencies - character, citizenship, collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving - will be crucial.
Knox will continue to nurture lifelong learners who are curious and eager to learn about themselves, one another and the wider world. We will continue to look at new technologies, learning opportunities and learning spaces that will foster the development of global competency skills in our students.
With support from generous philanthropic contributions from the Knox community, we are pleased to announce two new innovation spaces will be created on our Knox Prep and Knox Senior campuses.
In Term 4, a new iHub innovation space will open on the senior campus, with planning underway to integrate similar changes on the Knox Prep campus.
These transformations will ensure our students from K-12 are engaged, challenged and empowered, and for the benefit of all our students present and future, Knox becomes a leader in the promotion and nurturing of young entrepreneurship and innovation.
"The new innovation spaces will be accessible to teachers, classes and students during and beyond the timetabled lessons, and will encourage students and teachers to be creative, curious and broad thinkers, innovators and active lifelong learners."
Already we have redesigned parts of the curriculum, whilst introducing new courses, to enrich the practical skills and knowledge needed to solve complex, and at times, unpredictable authentic issues.
Following are some examples of innovative pedagogies that will place the student at the centre of the education journey:

Through industry partnerships and an emerging cross-institutional relationship with Macquarie University, students in the above elective courses will have the opportunity learn through authentic experience.
(ii) Incubator Passion Projects (you may need to use Google for an explanation!)
(iii) Co-Curricular Clubs
(iv) Micro-credentialing
"It is imperative that we not only allow students to interact with emerging technologies, but also educate them from the youngest age on how these technologies work."
Using the above as a framework, we aim to ensure our students leave Knox as confident users of this technology in a wide range of contexts, understanding the benefits and aware of the risks.

Our senior students recently gathered for the 2026 Knox Careers Insight Evening. The evening opened with a powerful keynote from Aden Mann (OKG10), who challenged students to think differently about their futures and the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Drawing on his own journey since graduating from Knox in 2010, Aden shared practical advice on career adaptability and lifelong learning.
