The wellbeing of our boys is our primary concern. All classroom teachers play an active role in fostering the wellbeing of the boys in their class. The teachers are well supported by our Director of Students and our Prep Psychologist. We understand that happy and resilient boys will achieve their best.
Boys from K to 6 are involved in a weekly lesson with our Prep Chaplain which integrates Christian Studies, our Knox values of ‘Faith, Integrity, Wisdom and Compassion’ with the key elements of the ‘You Can Do It’ Program.

Boys with meals they have cooked for The Dish
Service Learning is a key component of each Prep boy’s education. We provide opportunities for our students to support our community and make a difference to the lives of others. Each year group works on different projects to allow the boys to experience and contribute to a variety of projects throughout their time at the Prep.
K-2: Meeting seniors: Twice a term the K-2 boys host a group of senior citizens for musical performances, classroom tours and morning tea
Year 3: Cooking for the homeless: Year 3 boys help the homeless by cooking food for St John’s Uniting Church ‘The Dish’, a program which provides meals to homeless people in Hornsby.
Year 4: Aboriginal education and helping others: Year 4 boys have established a partnership with Jarjum College in Redfern and support the school by holding fundraising stalls.
Year 5: Supporting charities: Boys are working in small groups to raise awareness of a charity or organisation of their choice.
Year 6: Helping people with a disability: Each week, a Year 6 class visits St Lucy’s Primary School, a school in Wahroonga for students with a disability to provide friendship and assist with sports lessons.
